The Contractor will be required to collect the Waste from CalMac Ferries Limited premises throughout the west coast of Scotland.

CalMac Ferries Limited is seeking a Contractor to help manage its Waste streams from end to end. The Contractor shall undertake both the management of subcontractors where required across CalMac's network and provide waste collection services where viable to do so. The Collection and Disposal of all Waste shall be undertaken in line with current Environmental Management & Health & Safety Legislation. The Contractor will be required to collect the Waste from CalMac Ferries Limited premises throughout the west coast of Scotland. The Contractor shall collate data as identified in the invitation to tender and provide expert advice on waste reduction. Please note CalMac Ferries Limited reserves the right to incorporate details of new premises to these lists, or withdraw addresses from the lists during the contract period, with no additional costs or detriment to the performance of the contract. The Contractor will be required to provide their expertise and technical advice in Identifying, Classifying, Collecting and Disposing of the Waste in a safe manner in line with current Environmental Management & Health & Safety Legislation. The detailed specification of the supply of the services and details of estimated demand is provided in the technical envelope included as part of the Invitation to Tender pack. The Collection and Disposal of General Waste which includes the following: Catering and retail waste including food waste, plastic packaging, paper and card packaging, paper cups, plastic containers, liquid waste, general office waste The Collection and Disposal of Special Waste which includes the following: Bilge Waste; Used Products including Batteries; Absorbent Granules, Aerosols, Paint, Plastics and Metals, Oil Filters, Industrial Wipes, Machinery Oil, Waste Engine Oil, Hydraulic fluid, Cooking Oil, and Recovered Flotsam. The Contractor will provide regular collections from the CalMac locations as required and instructed in the Purchase Order issued by CalMac Ferries Limited. The Contractor will offer appropriate bulk storage containers for CalMac use and the Contractor will be responsible for servicing and maintenance where necessary of the storage containers. CalMac reserves the right to supply bulk storage containers and amend the Contract pricing accordingly. CalMac shall require that collections are maintained all year round to ensure containers are emptied regularly in line with CalMac operating 364 days per year. Lower volume SPECIAL WASTE streams will be collected as and when required or as notified to the Contractor by CalMac Ferries designated employee.
