To ensure compliance with British Standard 7671, and the Well-lit Highways (Code of Practice for Highway Lighting Management), the Council require inspection and testing for the approx. 58,000 street lighting columns around the City, as well as identifying those that are near the end of their design life. The Council are required to appoint a supplier to structurally and electronically test street lighting columns and for electrical remedial works identified following the aforementioned testing. The Council have utilised the YPO Framework for Street-Lighting Products and Services and are awarding this contract following a mini-competition of Lot 5 (Structural and Electrical Testing of Street Furniture and Luminaires).
