Notice Description
The Western Road Depot in Kilmarnock is East Ayrshire Council's main waste management and outdoor amenities depot. It contains a mechanical recycling facility, washbay and fuelling services, offices, welfare facilities and a public recycling depot. It also houses the council's commercial refuse fleet, road cleaning vehicles, grass cutting equipment etc. It is open to both staff and public 7 days a week excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day and is a highly used facility. The Western Road project comprises the electrical enabling works, demolition of central bailing shed, formation of internal roadways and fuelling facility, installation of street lighting and fencing, concrete groundworks, formation of public recycling facility and forming road connections.

The Western Road project comprises the electrical enabling works, demolition of central bailing shed, formation of internal roadways and fuelling facility, installation of street lighting and fencing, concrete groundworks, formation of public recycling facility and forming road connections. The estimated value of the works is approximately 2m GBP. Building warrant and planning permission is the responsibility of the Council and will be in place prior to contract start date. The anticipated programme from contract award is as follows; - Contract Award 4th August 2017 - Construction Start Date 18th September 2017 - Construction Completion Date 6th April 2017 The Conditions of Contract shall be the 'Standard Building Contract (with Quantities) for use in Scotland (ref SBC/Q/Scot) 2011 Edition', subject to the amendments noted within.
