Notice Description
Provision of a Destination Management System (DMS)
Lot Information
Lot 1
Award of contract for the provision of a Destination Management System (DMS). This contract award follows the publication of a VEAT (Voluntary Ex-Ante Transparency) Notice
Procurement Information
VisitScotland is currently undertaking a comprehensive strategic review of its digital environment. Included within this review is the Destination Management System (DMS). Upon conclusion of the review it is proposed that all recommendations and outputs that require to be procured will be tendered in accordance with current procurement legislation. The contract for the DMS will only be for an initial period of 12 months until the review is completed and a new tender is concluded. There is an option to extend by a further 6 months. The economic operator mentioned in section V of this notice is the only operator capable at this time to provide VisitScotland with a DMS that integrates fully with the current organisational digital systems. VisitScotland has a complex digital ecosystem which supports the brand, consumer marketing and customer experience needs, as well as a number of internal business processes. Notably the consumer website www.visitscotland.com delivers services to end users that are reliant on the existing DMS product. It is not possible to operate the ecosystem without the ongoing support of New Mind and use of the existing DMS product of New Mind. VisitScotland has developed a data services application layer, which exposes product data in an appropriate format to the website. This services layer integrates with a data interface provided by the contractor, enabling access to their product data schema. Importantly, VisitScotland has developed a search application used across the DMS that is integrated with the New Mind data interface. VisitScotland is therefore dependent on the data interface in order to access its data. In addition to the above, VisitScotland's business customer community have access to an Extranet application, provided as part of New Mind's DMS product suite, which facilitates their management of their web listing(s) on the website.
