This must include the full design of the flue systems for both the biomass boiler and CHP unit; this element must not to be an exclusion in the tender documents.

Lot 1

Two biomass systems are to be installed at University Hospital Ayr, a 1.5MW wood pellet biomass boiler and a small-scale biomass CHP unit. The design team contract comprises the full electrical, mechanical and controls design of both systems. This must include the full design of the flue systems for both the biomass boiler and CHP unit; this element must not to be an exclusion in the tender documents. Civil engineering work includes the structural design of the biomass and CHP boiler houses, craneage points on the boiler houses, concrete plinths and bases for the boiler houses, thermal stores, fuel silos and flue mast. Mains water supplies may be taken from the main boiler house. Both foul and surface water drainage systems will be required at both boiler houses. Full electrical design is required to include electrical distribution, small power, internal and external lighting, heat & fire detection and security detection alarms. Each of the biomass boiler and CHP units is to operate under its own bespoke controls. An interface with the existing BMS system will be required in each boiler house, and equipment not controlled by the bespoke controls must be connected to BMS sub-panels in each boiler house
