Boundary Wall Remedial Works

Notice Description

The wall along the North-West perimeter of the park and forming the boundary with number 20-38 Old Craighall Road is in a poor state of repair. In some places it has collapsed, sections of rubble stone cope are missing, the lower portions are badly affected by scouring, eroding both stone and mortar beds and in places, repairs have been attempted using cement mortar which has further eroded the stone. The condition is such that the wall now requires to be rebuilt in places.

Your proposal shall include for all design, materials, labour and equipment to achieve the following to the specification below; a.The wall shall be taken down where necessary, and rebuilt using existing stones as far as possible, tamped and pointed in lime mortar; b.Missing sections of cope shall be replaced using existing and new stones as appropriate and to the same standards as a) above; c.The existing wall shall be tamped and pointed in lime mortar where it is sufficiently sound not to need rebuilding. Pinning stones shall be used as the original construction methods to ensure the longevity of the finished pointed wall; d.Failed stones including pinning stones, shall be replaced with similar sandstone minimally dressed to provide a reasonably even appearance in colour and texture e.The proposal shall allow for disposal of all waste and packaging shall be properly disposed of so as to leave the site clean & tidy.
