At Section II.2.4 the following further information is provided to add to the general description and requirements as stated in the Contract Notice for the Supply of one New Pilot Vessel (Design and Build). GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS The Vessel is to be designed primarily to carry out pilotage duties but also to be capable of hydrographic survey work and corporate trips. The crew (3) are stationed on the vessel, in shifts, throughout a 24 hour period and therefore the accommodation area has to cater for this. Good access around all machinery is vital for daily maintenance and overhauls. The area of operation is to cover Scapa Flow in the Orkney Islands and its approaches. The endurance is to be a minimum of 24 hours based on both main engines operating at 100% MCR and with a complement of 6 persons. Total complement will be 3 crew and 3 pilots with LSA supplied for a maximum complement of 15 people. The vessel is to have a minimum service life of 25 years. The Vessel should have manoeuvrability and handling characteristics such as to pace a vessel moving at 10-12 knots and easily approach a point alongside a large hull. The Vessel must be able to break away from such a moving vessel smoothly and without using undue forces on the stern of this Vessel by the ability to produce a suitable transverse thrust moment. The Vessel is to be operated in all seasons - and to facilitate pilotage operations, the stability and sea keeping properties are to be optimised to provide a safe working platform, especially operating in and around the Orkney Islands. To be certified to the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency - The Workboat Code, Industry Workboat Group Technical Standard - for area Category 3 operation, with all certification issued by the Society of Consulting Marine Engineers & Ship Surveyors (SCMS). The hull and wheelhouse construction is to be certified to Lloyds Register (or equivalent Society) to +100AI \"Pilot\" SSC G2 with the safety and outfit items/code work certified by The Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors (SCMSS). NB: All references to Lloyds Register in this specification can also mean an equivalent Classification Society to be agreed. Lifesaving equipment, fire-fighting equipment and electronic navigation and radio equipment which is to supplied in accordance with regulatory and Owners requirements shall comply with Merchant Shipping (Marine Equipment Regulations) SI 2016/1025 (MSN 1874 Amendment 1), in accordance with EU Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU, where appropriate and practicable. Hull construction material to be aluminium, final design must meet minimum contract requirements.
