The Glasgow Addiction Service Partnership employs approximately 500 staff and co-ordinates the delivery of NHS and City council Addiction services including, - 20 community addiction teams - Homeless Addiction team - The '218 project' - Drug Court; - Pharmacological Support services - Specialist in-patient services - Partial hospitalisation services - Out-patient services The partnership intends to carry out addiction testing across all addiction teams and this tender is for the supply and distribution of drug detection kits, with the testing process being undertaken by Glasgow Addiction Services Partnership staff.

NHSGG&C Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services (Addiction Services) deliver treatment and care services to approximately 6,000 patients per year in a range of settings: Community Addiction Teams Specialist in-patient services Homelessness Day Services Criminal Justice Out-patient services Prison Services Testing, monitoring and reporting of illicit substance use is essential for appropriate patient care and is a key component of service delivery. Testing is carried out in all service areas. There are a number of drivers, (Clinical Governance, Clinical Biochemistry Accreditation, MHRA guidance, Electronic Patient Record), that set the expected quality standards which relate to drug testing apparatus.
