Research into the representation of equality groups in elected office
Notice Description
We want to have a clearer understanding of the existing evidence base and gaps in relation to the diversity of candidates and elected politicians. We have three research opportunities and potential contractors can apply for one, two or all three lots. Potential contractors can apply individually or as part of a consortium bid. The research reports will provide the Commission with: - Comprehensive an analysis of existing data on the diversity of national and local politicians in Britain - Evidence of action taken in other countries to create conditions to improve the representation of underrepresented groups in elected office and how successful these have been and, - Evidence of barriers to political participation that are linked to political party structures, processes and the support provided and are linked to the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010.
