Notice Title
Scottish Canals Tourism Investment Partner
Notice Description
Scottish Canals is looking for an innovative investment partner, or partners, to help fund and deliver projects to develop tourist destination nodes along the Caledonian Canal.
Lot Information
Lot 1
Once the transport arteries that stoked the fires of the Industrial Revolution, today Scotland's canals are home to cyclists and cafes rather than coal scows and Clydesdale horses. In the last decade, Scottish Canals has spearheaded more than 170,000 square metres of canalside development, generating 150 million GBP in economic impact and creating world-renowned tourism destinations such as The Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculptures, and Fort Augustus at the head of Loch Ness. Scottish Canals will assess applications on a range of factors, including experience of delivering projects.
Options: Successful organisations may be invited to participate in additional projects subject to available funds and continued interest in participation.
Renewal: The contract length will be directly related to the project proposals and the lifespan of the project. In some cases, the contract length could be in excess of ten years dependant on the type of project and the return on investment criteria.

"reviewDetails": "Scottish Canals will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period before entering into the contract at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. Any appeal should be directed to the contact details set out in VI.4.3) below. If an appeal regarding the award of a contract has not been successfully resolved, the regulations provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the Sheriff Court or the Court of Session in Scotland. Where a contract has not been entered into the Court may order the setting aside of the contract award decision or order the Authority to amend any documents and may award damages. If the contract has already been entered into when the appeal is lodged, the Court may only award damages unless satisfied that one of the prescribed grounds for ineffectiveness applies. Any action must be brought promptly (generally within 3 months).",
