Soil Surveys Framework
Notice Description
The FC has an ongoing requirement for the provision of soil surveys across all of Scotland * The framework value is given as 750,000 GBP, which is the maximum budget available. The individual lot values add up to 480,000GBP. This is the minimum budget available.

North Highland
1.3 The FC has an ongoing requirement for the provision of soil surveys across all of Scotland. The successful "applicant (s)" will be required to: - Carry out site/soil surveys of afforested, clear felled, open hill and ex-agricultural land (please note that a large proportion will be either afforested or clear-fell). - Record the site/soil patterns and associated specific data, using the FC soil classification. - Map Soil Polygons and associated linear and point data in a digital format. - Deliver all data outputs from the survey, as specific format GIS themes (currently a bespoke version of GIS Forester), together with associated attribute tables. - Produce a written report for each site Training in the digital mapping of soils in the bespoke GIS formats, will be provided.
Renewal: Option of 1x12 month extension
Inverness Ross and Skye1.3 The FC has an ongoing requirement for the provision of soil surveys across all of Scotland. "description": "2.14 Skills Test All bidders who have successfully advanced beyond the qualification, technical and commercial evaluation will then be required to send all staff they intend to use under the framework undertake and pass a mandatory skills test which will also form part of your tender submission. All bidder staff and any proposed subcontractors who will be providing this service to the FC are required to undertake this skills test. Any delegates who fail the skills tests will be required to re-sit and pass before they are permitted to work on this framework. The FC will not provide any training or instruction to any delegates who fail. Any training required in order for them to pass must be carried out by, and at the expense of the bidder. The skills test will take place on 08/06/2018, and participants will meet at the following address: Forestry Commission - Tay Forest District Office Inverpark, Dunkeld PH8 0JR Attendees must bring with them all equipment required to carry out soil surveys. Attendees should also ensure that they have the following PPE with them on the day. - Suitable Footwear for conducting forest surveys - Waterproof Clothing - Hi-Vis Jacket or Waistcoat - Hardhat - Safety Glasses or suitable eye protection Attendance at the skills test by all members of the team identified as being responsible for delivery the service is mandatory. Failure to send staff to undertake the skills test will result in your tender submission being rejected. If a bidder cannot make the 8th June an alternative date of 18th June has been made available.
