Notice Title
City Art Centre Cafe Concession
Notice Description
The Council is seeking a cafe operator with specific knowledge and previous significant experience of working within established museum or gallery venues, who would be interested in operating the City Art Centre Cafe. It is anticipated that the cafe concession contract period will be for three to five years.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The Council wishes to attract a Concessionaire to operate the City Art Centre cafe to reflect the qualities and ethos of the Art Centre, and of the Council. The cafe operator will have specific knowledge and previous significant experience of working within established museum or gallery venues. The applicant must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of working in close partnership with the venue, as the cafe forms part of the same premises and will largely be viewed by the public as part of the venue, and not necessarily be discerned to be a separate business concern. This is an exciting opportunity to operate a cafe inside a prestigious arts venue, on a busy street in the heart of Scotland's capital city. At this stage, the Council is evaluating basic suitability to operate the cafe concession. Responses to the attached questionnaire will be used to determine a shortlist of suppliers to invite to tender. Please refer to the attached briefing document and floor plan for further information. Your complete response should be sent to darren.moir@edinburgh.gov.uk by 12noon on Thursday 30th August 2018.
