Notice Information
Notice Title
EC0830 Spinning Disc Microscope (CCBS, Chancellors)
Notice Description
The University of Edinburgh is looking to procure a Spinning Disc Confocal Microscope System to be housed on the ground floor of the Chancellor's Building. The main purpose of this system is for high through-put 3D high resolution imaging of large, fixed specimens and for high-speed 4D imaging of live specimens. The system will be available to a number of researchers and groups, and as such should be ready-to-use and easy to set up prior to imaging. We aim to apply the spinning disc confocal microscope for rapid, high-resolution imaging of synapses (average size 0.2-0.5 um), known to be altered in neurodevelopmental disorders. Our primary goal is systematically imaging synaptic proteins across the entire rodent brain, with ideal laterally and axially high resolution at subcellular level (via high magnification/high NA lens combined with potential post-objective magnification).
Lot Information
Lot 1
Tender for the supply, installation and technical services of a Spinning Disc Microscope for Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences (CCBS).
Options: Costed Options as detailed in ITT and Price Schedule.
Renewal: Suppliers will be asked to cost for extended warranty/service/maintenance for years 2-5. Should the budget be available, these options may be taken at the time of purchase. Should the budget become available at a later point to extend the service contract, the tender will allow for this.
