Notice Description
The purpose of this high level information is to provide prospective Principal Contractors with information regarding NHS Ayrshire & Arran's project to provide Surgical bed Reconfiguration via refurbishment and internal alterations of Ward 4B at University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC), Kilmarnock, KA2 0BE.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The accommodation will provide improved Surgical Services that meet current Scottish healthcare standards and guidelines, for example SHPN 04-01 Adult In-Patient Facilities and SHPN-27 Intensive Care - design and briefing guidance and all relevant SHTMs. Ward 4B is a General Surgery Elective Ward for NHS Ayrshire and Arran, with 30 beds for NHS Ayrshire and Arran. In order to improve efficient and effective utilisation of surgical beds it is proposed that Ward 4B will provide 18 general surgical beds and 6 High Care beds. In order to achieve compliance with the standards required, general refurbishment works are necessary. It is envisaged that to provide compliant in-patient and high-dependency accommodation, alterations within the existing ward footprint of circa 602 square metres will be required..
