Notice Description

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) currently utilise 0300 numbers for staff, teams and fax lines. These are provided by Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) 30 circuits. Our supplier has advised that the circuits we have with them will cease in 2020. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunks are the industry-accepted replacement for ISDN circuits. It is an Internet Protocol (IP) technology and streaming media service based on the SIP by which Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) deliver telephone services and unified communications to customers equipped with SIP-based private branch exchange (IP-PBX) and unified communications facilities.
