Summary of the contracting process

The University of Edinburgh has recently completed a contract for "Counselling Software", primarily focusing on environmental protection and education sectors, located in Edinburgh, UK. The procurement process was conducted under an open procedure and has awarded the contract to Big White Wall for a total value of £60,000, signed on 26 September 2019. This contract falls under the procurement stage of 'Award' and was justified under Regulation 6(1)(b)(ii) of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016, due to the absence of competition for technical reasons.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the digital mental health services sector, particularly those offering peer support networks and online therapeutic programmes. Companies that specialise in developing comprehensive mental health solutions, including self-managed and facilitated programmes focusing on anxiety, depression, and other related areas, would be well-suited to engage in similar future tenders. The unique aspects of the service provided by Big White Wall highlight the niche market potential for businesses aiming to deliver innovative mental health technologies and support systems.
