Notice Description
1 x Cloud Infrastructure Engineer based at 4 Atlantic Quay, Glasgow.Candidates need to demonstrate:* AWS Certified (Solution Architect Associate / Systems Administrator Associate) or demonstrable AWS cloud engineer experience of 1 years or more;* Solid and demonstrable understanding of well architected AWS environments;* In-depth Infrastructure as Code experience for automation and configuration management (specifically CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef);* Evangelist for Continuous integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies* Excellent Linux/Unix system administration skills with a bias towards RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 7 and CentOS;* Experience of standards, architectures and best practices for architecture, network and systems security and service availability - CIS/OWASP;* Understanding of software and infrastructure architecture including performance tuning applications, infrastructure and databases;* Proficient in system monitoring, capacity planning, business continuity, system support and failure diagnosis;Tasks:* The role will ultimately be responsible for the comprehensive documentation and handover to permanent SSD staff. As an initial step this role will also have to define, manage and receive a handover from the Implementing supplier company.* Maintain an understanding of the current and evolving IT Landscape and identify potential improvements now and longer-term. This will be directed by a strong awareness of digital strategy, new ways of working and emerging technologies.* Ensure the measurement of infrastructure service against SLAs and assist with fault resolution and maintain relationships with, manage and support third parties in providing infrastructure services.* Work with technical architects to translate architectural designs into operations.* Governance over infrastructure cost optimisation and performance efficiencies. Responsible for the development and operation of infrastructure cost management and optimization processes. Provide input in to overall management - workforce, budget, technology roadmaps, projects and tasks.Essential Knowledge* Experience of managing a small team of technical specialists.* Ability to give direction and support to multiple stakeholders, including business, delivery project teams and other architects, within a constantly changing environment.Generalist* Ability to work on their own initiative and take responsibility for a variety of key tasks / deliverables* Ability to negotiate and get buy in.
