Notice Title
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Notice Description
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The Scottish Ministers have placed a single-supplier Framework Agreement for the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to organisations (outwith the NHS and the regulated care sector) which provide essential public services with a risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.. The stated value is an estimate only. Actual usage of this Framework Agreement is difficult to predict accurately.
Options: The base period of the Framework Agreement is 11 months. There is an option to extend the period by a further 13 months.
Procurement Information
The Authority is of the opinion that the current COVID-19 pandemic constitutes an unforeseeable event which justifies a direct contract award for the provision of PPE on grounds of urgency. The Authority recognises that the Contractor already supplies similar goods to other customers (and thus has existing supply chains and a familiarity with the product range), has the ability to stock and distribute product across Scotland (as an existing provider of other products to the public sector in Scotland) and so are able to offer the rapid implementation that is required.
