Summary of the contracting process

The University of Edinburgh is preparing to initiate a procurement process for the "Mechanical Building Services" project, focusing on services within two avian research buildings located in Edinburgh, UK. The planned tender aims to appoint a single supplier for the service and maintenance of mechanical systems, which includes air filtration services to adhere to Home Office requirements. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a future notice date set for 24 August 2020. The estimated value of the contract is £500,000, and the successful bidder will be responsible for maintaining a range of systems critical to the avian facilities' operation.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in mechanical and building services, particularly those experienced in working with respiratory hazards and air filtration technologies. Companies with expertise in managing mechanical systems in research or laboratory environments would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. With the potential for additional reactive maintenance tasks, businesses that can demonstrate compliance with health and safety standards and possess knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements will likely find this tender aligns well with their service offerings.
