Notice Title
Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) PIN
Notice Description
NHS Scotland is considering options for a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to the National Health Service Scotland. The main objective is to maintain service sustainability but there are a number of additional PACS features which we are considering and want to explore further. We are interested in a PACS service which benefits from a roadmap to meet the evolving needs of the NHS in Scotland. The overall system must support the workflow by providing clinicians with the full imaging history of a patient from any one of 15 NHS Boards in Scotland (14 territorial NHS Boards and NHS Golden Jubilee National Hospital). PACS is used by approximately 40,000 users in Scotland and delivers radiographic services to a population of 5,450,000 people and which deals with well in excess of approximately 3.8 million studies a year to the following participants: NHS Ayrshire and Arran, NHS Borders, NHS Dumfries and Galloway, NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Grampian, NHS Highland, NHS Lanarkshire, NHS Lothian, NHS Orkney, NHS Shetland, NHS Tayside, NHS Western Isles, National Waiting Times Special Health Board.
