We manage land on behalf of Scottish Ministers and serve as part of the Environment and Forestry directorate of the Scottish Government.Healthy habitats, iconic species, rare plants and ancient monuments all contribute to a vital sense of place and belonging, whether they're found on the doorstep of our cities or in the furthest reaches of our uplands. We are committed to ensuring the natural and cultural heritage on the land we manage is protected, conserved and enhanced.An ambitious reintroduction programme has saved the water vole from the edge of extinction in Scotland.This contract is for a Water Vole Project Officer based in the Trossachs around Aberfoyle. The Water Vole Project Officer will be required to help with the planning and implementation of monitoring and protecting the expanding population of water voles. This contract is for 16 hours per week (average); the contract period will be for 12 months.There may be an option to extend the contract for another 12 months at the end of the contract period.
