Notice Title
Digital Literacy Leadership Training Programme
Notice Description
In 2012, the Scottish Government tasked MGS with launching a National Strategy for Scotland's museums and galleries, which aimed to unite the sector in working towards a more sustainable future. Since launching the National Strategy, three corresponding delivery plans have been published. The latest plan, launched in March 2020, was developed in collaboration with the sector and sets out four areas of strategic focus, one of which is increasing digital capacity. In response to this need, MGS seeks to work with a contractor in delivering an 18-month digital skills-based training programme, including an impact assessment at the end of the course. The programme will allow sectoral organisational leaders to effectively appraise their current digital position, whilst confidently and positively driving forward their digital vision through their organisation and the wider heritage sector.
Lot Information
Lot 1
Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) is the National Development Body for museums and galleries in Scotland. MGS promotes the sector's work to the Scottish Government, stakeholders and the public, and advocates the public value and contribution of museums and galleries to society. MGS welcomes submissions from training providers that can demonstrate experience of supporting a range of organisations in gaining an understanding of the importance of strong digital leadership. The successful contractor will have experience of working with groups of varying abilities and with diverse requirements, and will tailor support as appropriate for individual business needs. The contractor will adopt an innovative and creative approach and enable the sharing of digital best practice regardless of the size, location and need of participating organisations. MGS is particularly interested to hear from organisations with an understanding of the challenges faced by the heritage sector. It is expected that all meetings and training sessions will be delivered remotely.
