Clyde Gateway wish to undertake improvements to the existing area of open space and woodland between Old Dalmarnock Road, Dunn Street and Finnart Street. The aim is to create a high-quality open space for public enjoyment with the Bridgeton Community Learning Campus (BCLC) at its heart. Some preliminary consultation has been undertaken through discussions with local partner groups. This include: - Clearance of rubbish and fly tipped debris. - Thinning out and opening up the existing woodland, forming new pathways and openings with good lines of visibility. - Introducing a junior bike circuit. - Creating a community growing space close to the BCLC. - Forming a new path and opening to the existing play area off Dale Street. - Introducing some informal natural play elements into the existing open space. - Improving the existing pathways. - Introducing new fencing, gateways and seating at different points. - Planting with native ground flora species to improve biodiversity throughout.

Community Enhancement activity relates to a wide range of activity that may include, but is not limited to: public art; support for local youth or elderly groups; involvement in the school curriculum such as careers talks, enterprise and education projects; and school / college work experience placements. It may also relate to small scale, low cost community improvements or \"make-overs\" such as improving the appearance of a community garden, advising community centres, etc. This Community Benefit element will not be evaluated as part of the invitation to tender. However, the delivery of community benefit opportunities is a contractual obligation under the framework agreement. The community enhancement measures required for a works package will be determined on a project by project basis. CGDL is committed to an approach to regeneration that puts local people at the heart of our plans. As part of the project development the Service Provider and team members will be required to develop and participate in Community Engagement sessions. These may take the form of public meetings, focus groups, newsletters or exhibitions. This activity will be coordinated by Clyde Gateway and will be in addition to any statutory consultations required as part of the planning process where this is related to projects within the work programme.
