Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), based in Edinburgh, UK, as the buying organisation. The title of this tender is "NSSCOVID-19 - 273a Contact Tracing Licences," focusing on the health industry to support contact tracing efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The process is currently at the Award stage, with the contract signed on 1st October 2021. The procurement was conducted using a limited method without prior publication of a call for competition, aimed at acquiring additional software licences to ensure continuous service delivery in Scotland amid urgent demands.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses within the software and health services sectors, particularly those skilled in delivering IT solutions for public health initiatives. Companies that specialise in software development, particularly those with experience in case management systems or similar services, would be well-suited to compete. Engaging in such contracts not only aids in securing new business but also enhances a company's reputation within the public sector, especially during a critical period of public health crisis response.
