Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is initiating a tender process for the "Software and Software Support Framework," which aims to establish a national collaborative framework for the wider Scottish public sector. This procurement falls under the goods category and is valued at approximately £90 million, with a focus on software and associated support services. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, and interested suppliers must submit their responses to the Request for Information (RFI) by noon on 19 April 2022. The framework is intended to succeed the NHS Software Value Added Reseller agreement, which will expire in January 2023.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in software development, IT services, and software support. Enterprises in the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector and third-sector organisations are encouraged to participate, as the Scottish Government is keen on nurturing local suppliers. By engaging in this procurement process, businesses can leverage the Supplier Development Programme, which offers essential training and support tailored to help them navigate public sector contracting and enhance their chances of success.
