Purchase of CMOS Si-SPAD Detector Camera
Lot Information
Lot 1
Under Regulation Reg 6(1)(b)(ii) of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016, a contracting authority may award a contract without competition based on the following justification: Competition is absent for technical reasons (only if it is not caused by artificial narrowing down of the parameters of the procurement and no reasonable alternative or substitute exists) Explanation: This is a specialist piece of detector array camera equipment and there are no other suppliers available in the market to supply this type of equipment in the form factor required. The CMOS Si-SPAD detector camera comes with 192x128 pixels, 40ps TDC resolution, frame rate up to 12.5kHz, microlenses integrated, up to 50% efficiency, dedicated acquisition software and analysis software for FLIM. The camera will be used mainly for underwater single-photon depth imaging. The principal purpose of the contract is to acquire goods in connection with research undertaken by the University
