Notice Description

NatureScot Peatland ACTION is seeking help in reviewing the current delivery models used to restore peatland in Scotland. The review will look at restoration models/processes across all delivery partners in order to identify options that could increase the scale and pace of restoration and thereby support the ambitious targets set by the Scottish Government.

NatureScot Peatland ACTION requires help in reviewing existing and exploring different delivery models for accelerating peatland restoration in Scotland - both the design, delivering and management stages of the restoration works. We would like to undertake a preliminary appraisal of options - both current and potentially new - in terms of delivery potential and best value. It is expected that this new work will build on the initial recommendations in the Peatland Commission (appendix 1 of SoR) and involve: a) Reviewing Peatland ACTION's current approach to delivery, drawing out: b) Identifying other delivery options. c) Preparing a report, with prioritised recommendations, on the options to optimise the delivery of peatland restoration in order to meet the Scottish Government targets. Further details in the SoR.. The contract is less than GBP 50,000 so is not considered a 'regulated procurement' as set out in the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014. It is being advertised to reach a wider potential field of candidates. Full details are set out in the attached SoR.
