This requirement is for pioneering work which is the first of its kind undertaken at this scale. The requirement for seasonal thermal imaging drone surveys is a continuation of work undertaken through contract 620_0201. Contract 620_0201 identified a suitable supplier with the capacity and capability to undertake the work and continuation of these surveys with this supplier will ensure the accuracy of the data received. The seasonal nature of the work is designed to facilitate further academic studies and research which will assist FLS, and the wider wildlife management sector, to gain a more in-depth understanding of high culling pressure on deer and how this can affect the immigration/emigration of wild deer species in Scotland.

Procurement Information
The requirement for seasonal thermal imaging drone surveys is a continuation of work undertaken through contract 620_0201. Contract 620_0201 identified a single, suitable supplier with the capacity and capability to undertake the work and continuation of these surveys with this supplier will ensure the accuracy of the data received on a like for like basis with the existing data gathered through the previous contract competition. The service requires an experienced drone operator who is also an expert in wildlife management, with an understanding of the potential movement of the deer being monitored and requires the drone pilot to accurately identify the species, sex, and age group of the deer - which is crucial to determining accurate deer population density information.
