Development of Online Ferry Booking Pages
Notice Description
Orkney Islands Council (OIC), on behalf of Orkney Ferries, require the services of a web agency to successfully, and in a timely manner, develop online ferry booking pages, based on the BOOKIT reservation system by Hogia Ferry Systems.
Lot Information
Lot 1
In order to develop a customer web booking based on BOOKIT, there are Application Programming Interfaces, APIs, available. OIC and Orkney Ferries therefore need to contract an established and competent web agency. This agency must have in-depth knowledge about the BOOKIT API, knowledge about the ferry business and can prove that they have successfully implemented web booking pages for other ferry operators (i.e., other Hogia Ferry Systems' customers). Orkney Ferries require the completed system to; The API must allow a website interface between Orkney Ferries Ltd website and the Hogia Bookit system. This interface will enable the online booking system and allow standard customers and commercial customers to; manage, pay for, change, and get refunds with online bookings. The API must be delivered and in place by the end of February 2024. The API must be capable of integrating with World Pay To provide an e-commerce platform for the Bookit management system The ability to provide real time information on sailings. The ability to write internal and external messages on disrupted sailings which are automatically posted on website and information screens. To be integrated with the Bookit system to get departures. Management Tool to manage all customer facing screens in the ports. Possibilities to open and close car lanes and check in booths Ability to send out emails to customers. Allow Online Check in Boarding Cards can be generated. Possibility to scan boarding cards at the point of loading. Solution to travel paperless with integration as part of the digital National Concessionary Vouchers and integrated with ITSO. Handheld solution integration for ticketing Virtual Queueing System Monitoring and proactive maintenance of loads with alerts on high use Designed Confirmation tickets and emails / pre and post journey emails. Allows refunds to different means of payments. Fully Functional Cancellation and amendment Separate business rules that need to be handled Automatic refunds to original means of payment Possibilities to book different vehicle types. Make multiple bookings. Separate business rules Default values for different vehicle types Ability to integrate into existing Orkney Ferries Website Wrapped Applications Mobile Apps launched and available in App Store Website Pages embedded into app. Native menu Auto login Possibility to add push messages to customers. Possibilities to develop self-service Kiosks. Ability to check in at terminal and print boarding cards. Ability to post information or alert messages for site visitors, colour coded and available on all pages of the portal. Possible to retrieve all departures from Bookit Show live departure / arrival information. Possibility to add delay messages or route messages. Ability to send out messages to customers on delays, either through API or directly from database Freight services - the ability to book, amend, cancel, list sailings, get invoices, get booking status.
