Notice Description

Culture Perth and Kinross, in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council, wish to appoint a cafe concession to occupy a purpose-built catering area within the new Perth Museum (opening in Spring 2024). The Museum Cafe will provide visitors and travel trade groups with an exceptional food and drink experience that will promote the best of local Scottish produce whilst supporting the Museum's pursuit of a 5 star rating from VisitScotland's Quality Assurance Scheme.

The Perth Museum Cafe will provide visitors with an exceptional food and drink experience and will promote the best of local and Scottish produce whilst supporting the museum's pursuit of a 5* rating from VisitScotland's Quality Assurance Scheme. The food and beverage operation will be intrinsic to the ongoing success of the museum, helping visitors further their enjoyment of the museum with an enjoyable dining experience and helping to drive non-traditional museum audiences to the venue. The strategic objectives of this procurement are to - To create a space that encourages visitors to the museum to dwell in the city following their visit. - To provide a hub for residents in and around Perth to gather and feel connected to their community. - To maximise on the opportunities afforded by the purpose-built cafe space, creating an inspiring and welcoming environment that will promote both the franchise and the museum and its focus on the provision of an exceptional visitor experience. - To provide our visitors (local, national, and international) with an exceptional culinary experience that celebrates local and Scottish produce and suppliers. - To support Perth Museum in its bid to achieve a 5* rating from VisitScotland's Quality Assurance Scheme. See 'Appendix B - Visit Scotland 5-Star Grading Scheme'. - To further bolster this by achieving VisitScotland's 'Taste Our Best' accreditation, showcasing its commitment to the central tenets of the award. See 'Appendix C - Visit Scotland "Taste Our Best" Scheme Criteria'. Scotland Excel is acting on behalf of Culture Perth and Kinross in the execution of this tender, but will not be party to the contract or the management of the contract throughout its lifetime.

Renewal: The initial period of the contract will run for 2 years from the commencement date with the option to extend for a further 1 x 3 year period, following by a further 1 x 2 year period subject to satisfactory operation and performance. The overall contract duration may be for a period of up to 7 years.
