Added to this, we are experiencing an increase in referrals for children and young people showing trauma-based behaviours, and need to support our front line workers to understand the potential drivers and contributors to this.

There has been a significant increase in newly qualified social workers joining East Ayrshire's Children & Families social work department. For many, they will as yet have no practice knowledge or experience of supporting children or adolescents who display Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB). Added to this, we are experiencing an increase in referrals for children and young people showing trauma-based behaviours, and need to support our front line workers to understand the potential drivers and contributors to this. OBJECTIVES OF THE SERVICE The training programme will provide three tiers of comprehensive, interlinking practice models, frameworks and practice guidance for children and young people with HSB. The programme will provide workers with a suite of three learning modules. These will range from Foundation through to Assessment levels. On completion of the suite of modules, practitioners will have the ability to: Understand what HSB is Be able to analyse HSB Create a profile of risk and need Develop safety plans through case formulation
