Notice Title

Award of PKC12727 Senior Leadership Development Programme

Notice Description

Perth & Kinross Council's vision is a Perth and Kinross where everyone can live life well, free from poverty and inequality. To deliver this vision the Corporate Plan sets out seven priority areas for the Council over a five year period to 2027. We recognise we can't do this on our own and are committed to working differently with our communities and partners to better engage and use our collective resources more effectively which is set out in the Perth and Kinross Offer. Our new leadership structure, approved at the Council's Finance and Resources Committee on the 23 June 2023, has seen reductions and realignment of portfolios at both Executive and Strategic Team levels. A key change within the new leadership structure will be the scope, remit, and span of responsibility for the Director and Strategic Lead roles. These expanded portfolios will mean less direct involvement in operational areas and a greater strategic focus. Strategic Leads will be expected to exercise greater leadership responsibility in terms of decision making and accountability, which for some will be a shift.Whilst there are clear outcomes from the Leadership Review including a high performing leadership team, more integrated service delivery, enhanced leadership capacity and capability at all levels, ensuring decisions are made by those who are best placed to make them. They are the 'what' and we would need a development programme to focus on the 'how' we achieve those.
