Notice Description

The Scottish Ministers acting through Marine Directorate invites tenders for a two year support contract on our existing Marine Scotland High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster made up of Lenovo ThinkSystem servers, supplied in 2020.Marine Directorate mainly use the HPC cluster for hydrodynamic model and particle tracking simulations, as well as model pre- and post-processing and visualisation, and other marine science applications. The wider Scottish Government also use the HPC cluster for modelling the spread of diseases. Marine Directorate has developed cutting edge machine learning (ML) methods for the automatic extraction of detailed growth information from salmon scale images. Machine learning is also being used, or investigated, in a number of other areas in Marine Directorate.
