Cladding Remediation - Supplier Event
Notice Description
The Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024 gives Scottish Ministers powers to assess and remediate buildings where the external wall cladding systems which directly or indirectly create or exacerbate risk to human life. Buildings with potentially unsafe cladding are being assessed through a Single Building Assessment (SBA). The SBA process involves the examination of internal areas and external walls to determine if intolerable Risk to Human Life is present and then set recommendations for them to be remediated. To support the next stage of remediation, Scottish Government will be hosting two Supplier Events to support this requirement. The first event will be on the 24th July 2025 at 10am in Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ for the following suppliers - - Project Managers; - Building Contractors with a cladding/facade focus and - Quantity Surveyors. The second event will be on the 24th July 2025 at 1:30pm in Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ for the following suppliers - - Fire Engineers; - Waking Watch and - Fire Alarms These Supplier Events will be a great opportunity for potential suppliers to obtain an overview of the requirement and understand the minimum qualifications required to enter field. There will also be information on the likely procurement process and timelines involved. The events will also help the Scottish Government to understand the suppliers market in greater detail, including the integration of subcontractors and material suppliers.
