Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Police Authority is seeking to acquire and install fridge and freezer temperature monitoring equipment along with an associated maintenance package. This procurement, identified under procurement code PROC 24-2586, falls under the 'Public order and safety' category and will use an open procedure procurement method. Bidders have until 21 August 2025 to submit their electronic tenders via the designated website. The contract is slated to commence immediately after the tender deadline and has a planned duration of five years, with the potential for extension for up to an additional five years. The project is centralised within the UKM region, with work focused in Glasgow.

This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in temperature monitoring technologies and system installation. Companies equipped with expertise in maintenance of such equipment and possessing relevant experience in providing services to forensic science providers are particularly well-suited to compete. The tender encourages entities capable of demonstrating past successful deployments within the last five years to participate, combining a focus on quality and price as the primary award criteria. SMEs with robust economic and financial standing and those able to ensure comprehensive insurance cover will find this to be a particularly valuable opportunity to expand their footprint in the public safety sector.
