The Scottish Ministers invite tenders for the overhaul and servicing of the steering gear and associated rudder of the vessel, MPV Jura involving the supply and installation of spare parts. The supplier shall be responsible for carrying out the installation of steering gear replacement parts, as well as the servicing and overhaul of the steering gear. Due to the proprietary nature of this equipment, this may require support from the manufacturer during the vessel's refit. The supplier will assume full responsibility for the removal and installation of the vessel's rudder parts. If the supplier opts to appoint a representative from the manufacturer to attend the vessel's refit, they shall be responsible for overseeing and project managing the overhaul and servicing of the associated equipment, which will be carried out by their subcontractor. The supplier must ensure that all activities are properly coordinated and completed in accordance with the required standards and schedule. The supplier remains solely accountable for the completion and quality of the overhaul of parts. Equivalent strategies would be considered, albeit technical capability to undertake task would be our main consideration.
