Summary of the contracting process

North Lanarkshire Council has initiated an open procurement process for the provision of Sheriff Officer Services covering the period from 2026 to 2030. The procurement falls under the 'General public services' category and involves regions served by Hamilton and Airdrie Sheriff Courts, located in Motherwell, region UKM84. The framework agreement aims to support various council services, including Enterprise and Communities along with Legal and Democratic Services, by fulfilling legal obligations through Sheriff Officers. The tender process is currently in the active stage, with critical deadlines including a submission end date on 11th November 2025. The total value of the procurement is set at £880,000.00 GBP.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for firms specialising in legal and enforcement services to engage in long-term government contracts, thereby promoting business growth. Companies that are members of the Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers and capable of executing tasks such as service intimation, diligence, and pre-sue reporting are well-positioned to compete. The tender employs an open procedure, offering equal opportunities for qualified service providers to participate and potentially be included in the framework agreement. With a possibility of extension, this framework could span a maximum of 48 months, promising a steady business stream for selected suppliers.
