The Council requires a hub where users can access the system and have the ability to find any needed legislation or regulation to help ensure that whatever project they are working on is compliant with government law and standards. A portal is currently used for this requirement that has 2 parts. The first part is the Construction Information Service legislation and technical information management solution. This service ensures that Fife Council will have access to the correct, current and complaint business critical information year-round. This service provides the Council access to 27,000 full-text PDFs with the ability to save, view, print, download, copy and paste any of these documents. There are over 350 publishers that add documents to this service. Fife Council require something equal in quality and quantity to this. The second part of the portal is Occupational Health & Safety Information Service. This single source library holds more than 90,000 documents from more than 400 publishers. The focus of this service is Health, Safety, Environmental and Fire. This service relates to risk management, hazardous substances and operations, control principles, movement of people and vehicles. Fife Council also require something that is equal in quality and quantity to this part of the portal. Overall, the current solution allows access to over 2.3 million industry standards, over 10 thousand engineering manuals, handbooks, reference books, over 76 million technical articles, journals and books, over 107 million patents, patent applications, unity models and abstracts and over 39 million industry-to-industry reference links across all hosted content
