Summary of the contracting process

The RSPB Scotland is seeking proposals for the operation of the Inner Forth Bike Bus Service as part of their Climate FORTH project. This service, slated to run every Sunday from May 2026 to September 2026, aims to provide free transport for walkers and cyclists in the Inner Forth area, covering Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, Fife, and Edinburgh. The tender, which falls under the environmental protection category, is currently at the 'tender' stage and is open for submission until 16 February 2026. The procurement is an open procedure allowing electronic submissions, indicating a straightforward and accessible process for interested parties.

This contract represents an excellent opportunity for businesses that specialise in transport and tour operation services or have experience in environmentally focused projects. Operators who can provide minibuses, drivers, and tour guides will find this tender well-suited to their capabilities. The emphasis on sustainable transport in the Inner Forth area suggests potential for future growth in this service sector, especially for enterprises looking to expand their offerings in eco-friendly and community-focused initiatives. Businesses can leverage this opportunity to not only showcase their service offerings but also contribute to a sustainable initiative aimed at reducing car usage in the region.
