Summary of the contracting process

Forestry and Land Scotland is procuring environmental survey services to support operational decisions in managing Scotland’s national forest estate, including biodiversity, land management and conservation work. The requirement covers ecological surveys of animal, bird and plant species; habitat walkover surveys; invasive non-native species surveys, including rhododendron; peatland depth assessment, condition monitoring and Peatland Code surveys; archaeological walkover surveys; and archaeological measured surveys. The work is divided across regional and national requirements: North, East, West, Central and South Scotland, with peatland and archaeological lots covering the National Forest Estate. The procurement is for services, classified principally as environmental protection services (CPV 77300000). Forestry and Land Scotland is the buying organisation, based in Inverness, and the services support its management of forests and land across Scotland.
