Notice Title
Supply, Installation and Maintenance of a Corporate Telematics Solution
Notice Description
This Market Engagement Questionnaire is being made publicly available to any organisations interested in the provision of Supply, Installation and Maintenance of a Corporate Telematics Solution for South Lanarkshire Council (the Council). The service will be delivered to Council services that operate vehicles, plant and specialist assets across South Lanarkshire Council's operational fleet. The purpose of the service is to support occupational road risk management, fleet compliance, vehicle and plant utilisation, driver safety, operational efficiency, decarbonisation and future fleet transition planning. This will involve the supply, installation, maintenance and support of a corporate telematics solution across a large and diverse fleet, including reporting on areas such as vehicle location, utilisation, idling, speeding, driver behaviour, journey activity, specialist vehicle use and electric vehicle data where available.
Lot Information
Lot 1
South Lanarkshire Council currently operates a large and diverse fleet of approximately 1,500 vehicles and plant assets across multiple services, depots and operational locations. The fleet supports a wide range of frontline, statutory and operational Council functions, including waste, roads, winter maintenance, passenger transport, grounds, housing, fleet maintenance and general Council operations. The fleet includes refuse collection vehicles, gritters, buses, sweepers, light commercial vehicles, cars, specialist vehicles, plant, trailers, internal combustion engine vehicles, hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles. Some vehicles and assets are depot-based, while others operate from remote or dispersed locations across the Council area. The Council's current telematics arrangements provide reporting on areas such as vehicle utilisation, idling, speeding and driver behaviour. As the Council's fleet and operational requirements continue to change, the Council is seeking to understand the current market capability for a modern, scalable and future-ready corporate telematics solution. The Council is looking to procure a solution that can support occupational road risk management, fleet compliance, driver safety, operational efficiency, asset utilisation, decarbonisation, EV transition planning and improved management information. The future solution should be capable of supporting a complex mixed fleet, including specialist vehicles and plant, while providing reliable data, flexible reporting, appropriate privacy controls, role-based access, integration options and effective support arrangements. The Council is therefore seeking expressions of interest and engagement with potential bidders, in advance of publishing an Invitation to Tender, for new service provision
