PS/26/120 - Sheet Pile Wall Works at Kirkford Gabions, Stewarton
Notice Description
An existing gabion wall, retaining a slope and footpath above, within Annick Water is in a deteriorated state. If no remediate works in the form of scour protection are undertaken, this may lead to a slope stability issue of the greater slope. Ayrshire Roads Alliance (East Ayrshire Council), wish to prevent any further deterioration of this structure and prevent any slope stability issues from as a result of the failing wall. Thus interventional remediation measures are required to protect the bank and slope toe form further erosion.

Lot 1
The purpose of the works is to undertake the following main elements: - Undertake enabling works to create temporary access to allow creating of dry working area and working platform within Annick Water - Install 55ln m of sheet pile wall along the front face of an existing gabion wall - Backfill behind the sheet pile wall with low cement/low embodied carbon concrete to fill void - Regrade slope above sheet pile wall to max gradient of 1:2 using imported 6G (100-200mm) stone and add topsoil dressing - Locally reinstate/repair riverbank bund using rock armour (HMA 300/1000).
Options: Includes any unforeseen works associated with the main works in or around this site.
