Summary of the contracting process

Glasgow City Council is procuring an architectural design contest for Albert Cross in Glasgow, covering architectural design, urban planning and related professional design services (CPV 71230000, 71220000, 71221000, 71240000 and 71240000). This opportunity suits an architecture practice or design consortium with a lead architect registered with the Architects Registration Board and experience producing ambitious but deliverable designs in sensitive urban or conservation settings. Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate architectural quality, innovation, heritage awareness, environmental performance, long-term resilience and meaningful community, cultural and economic benefit. Teams should have the technical capability to prepare initial concepts, a more detailed SPD submission and a cost plan, while aligning proposals with planning policy and practical delivery. Participants must be prepared to secure the required employers’, public, products and professional indemnity insurance and grant the Council title to existing and future intellectual property rights. Financially, progressing teams need positive pre-tax trading performance over three years, positive net worth and no insolvency process.
