Blackpool Council is seeking to procure the services of a highly experienced multi-disciplinary consultancy team to assist the Council in delivering innovative Design Codes for Blackpool. Blackpool has recently been allocated funding by the Office for Place at the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) to participate in the Design Code Pathfinder Programme 2024 - 2025. This will involve progressing work on setting clear quality design requirements through developing a new and innovative authority-wide Design Code that specifically responds to the following themes: - Supporting levelling up and regeneration with a Design Code for an area with lower values, designed to encourage greater investment in development; and - Street Design Focus developed in partnership with the Local Highways Authority In addition the Office for Place through the programme wish to explore with the Council the potential to include other themes with a particular focus on coding for non-residential areas. This opportunity is being undertaken via the electronic tendering portal The Chest - https://procontract.due-north.com/ Blackpool Council (The Authority) and its Wholly Owned transport company, Blackpool Transport Services (BTS) submitted a joint submission to the Department for Transport to secure Zero Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) grant funding in order to replace the existing diesel fleet with electric buses. As a result, the Authority and BTS will be undertaking significant modification of the existing depot to ensure that it is fit for purpose and meets the future vision for BTS. The depot will be fitted out with electric vehicle charging infrastructure, ready to house the new fleet of electric buses. The Chargers in use will be a DC system. Blackpool Coastal Housing (BCH) and Blackpool Housing Company (BHC) are looking to appoint a Contractor framework to undertake (Lot 1) the Sampling of & (Lot 2) the removal of licensed and non-licensed materials containing asbestos. The subject properties comprise domestic private & social housing in the form of flats and houses and in the majority of cases, these will be occupied. BCH & BHC wishes to appoint a Contractor/s who can clearly demonstrate the ability to meet our requirements and who offers the most economically advantageous tender. Bidders may tender for either one or both Lots, however the same Service Provider will not be appointed to both Lots. Bidders who tender for both Lot 1 & Lot 2 will be asked to select their preferred Lot when completing Appendix C - Tender Return Document and if they are successful on both Lots they will be awarded their preferred lot only.
