UKRI want to commission a supplier to deliver a new UK-wide celebration to engage the public, particularly young people, with research and innovation (R&I). This will be delivered through the following 5 work packages over the duration of the six years in total: • Work package 1: coordinated UK-wide activities that celebrate and showcase R&I and supports people (particularly young people and those from minoritised communities and those underrepresented in R&I) to engage with R&I through co-produced local and regional activity. • Work package 2: grants programmes to support those from minoritised communities and underrepresented groups to engage with R&I through community-led events and local activities in schools throughout the year. • Work package 3: a programme of deliberative dialogues with young people to explore their views and concerns about R&I, providing unique insights into young people’s relationship with R&I and enabling their views to inform and influence decision-making in R&I. • Work package 4: support for sharing learning between this programme of activity and existing knowledge festivals, museums, science centres and other relevant organisations. • Work package 5: summative and formative evaluation to understand and share what works in informal engagement with R&I. The Opportunity The purpose of this market engagement is to identify ‘not for profit’ operators of staff and student accommodation, who may be interested in the described opportunity at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GWH), in Swindon. The opportunity is in two distinct parts: 1. New development: The appointment of a “not for profit” operator to manage a new purpose-built staff & student accommodation facility to be built on GWH’s 5.5 HA Expansion Land site, directly adjacent to the main hospital. 2. Existing facility: Downsview House (DVH) is owned and operated by Unite Students under NHS PFI arrangements – this PFI contract concludes in Oct 2029. It is anticipated that the selected operator will take over the management of DVH in due course. Historic England wishes to commission a new Conservation Management Plan for Fort Cumberland, located in Eastney, Portsmouth. The site is of national importance. It is designated as a Scheduled Monument (List entry number: 1015700) and is Listed Grade II* (List entry number: 1104273). Other listed buildings within the fort include the Former Guard House, Former Officers Quarters, Former Hospital and Ancillary Buildings are listed as Grade II (List entry numbers: 1104274, 1104276, 1104275 respectively).
