Summary of the contracting process

The House of Commons, acting as the buying organisation, is conducting a tender (GSV1706) for the provision of audio guides aimed at enhancing the visitor experience at the Houses of Parliament. This procurement falls under the category of "Tourist guide services" with a total estimated value of £200,000. The procurement method is open, and the tender is currently in the planning stage, with submissions due by 30th April 2018 at 12.00 noon UK time. Successful responses will lead to the contract commencing on 30th May 2018 and lasting until 29th November 2022. The procurement process mandates that tender submissions be uploaded via the Houses of Parliament's e-procurement portal, requiring suitable registration prior to submission.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in audio content development, electronics, or tourist services to expand their operations. Companies with experience in creating audio guides, sound recordings, or museum service deliveries will be particularly well-suited to compete. This is an excellent entry point for SMEs looking to establish a foothold in public sector contracts, especially those with the capacity to develop innovative audio solutions tailored for guided tours. By responding to this tender, businesses can not only leverage the prestigious nature of the House of Commons as a client but also enhance their visibility in the public procurement market.
