Summary of the contracting process

The Huntingdonshire District Councils are currently seeking a commercial partner through a tender process for the supply of CCTV hardware and the development of CCTV network monitoring and associated services. This procurement is classified under the "Repair and maintenance services of security equipment" category and is valued at £2,910,000. The tender period closes on 25th September 2017, with the contract expected to commence on 1st February 2018 and run until 31st May 2024, including an option for extension. The services will be delivered in the East of England, United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in CCTV systems, infrastructure upgrades, and associated maintenance services. Companies that can demonstrate expertise in commercial development and possess the technical skills to enhance CCTV capabilities would be particularly well-suited to compete. Smaller enterprises, including SMEs, are encouraged to participate, as the Council aims to engage a provider that can contribute not only to the technological upgrade but also to creating new income streams through improved service resilience and flexibility.

Notice Title

The supply of CCTV Hardware and the Commercial Development of CCTV Network Monitoring and Associated Services

Notice Description

The Council is seeking a commercial partner for the commercial development of CCTV network monitoring and associated services and the supply of CCTV hardware. The core CCTV infrastructure provides a solid platform for development, but is in need of a substantial technology upgrade to future-proof it. Rather than simply procure a supply and maintenance contract to support this upgrade, the Council believes there is the opportunity to realise the commercial potential that it, as a local authority, does not necessarily have the expertise or resources to maximise income. The object of this procurement is to enable the Council to: * Reduce annual communications costs; * Reduce annual maintenance costs; * Minimise capital costs for installing new cameras; * Improve image quality, including the evidential quality of images shared with law enforcement partners; * Increase flexibility; * Increase service resilience; * Enable new income streams. The Council is seeking to let a five year contract, with the option to extend for a further period to 31st May 2024, with a single provider that will bring commercial skills and as well as the design and installation of hardware.
