Summary of the contracting process

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is seeking to establish a framework agreement for the short to medium-term hire of vehicles and plant, as detailed in the award titled "NUN - Provision of Hired Vehicles & Plant (Framework Agreement)." The procurement falls under the "goods" category, specifically focusing on "Transport equipment and auxiliary products to transportation." The contract period commenced on 1 January 2019 and is set to conclude on 31 December 2021, with a possible one-year extension depending on performance and budget. The procurement was carried out through an open procedure, and suppliers were able to place bids for multiple lots, with a maximum of 20 suppliers per lot based on the most economical pricing available. The delivery addresses for the contract service are located in the West Midlands, UK.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses in the vehicle and plant hire sector, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) able to fulfil ad-hoc demands from the council. Suppliers with capabilities in providing construction and civil engineering machinery, motor vehicles, and other transportation-related products stand to benefit significantly from this framework agreement. The structure allowing multiple suppliers in each lot enhances competitive bidding and offers collaboration opportunities among larger and smaller businesses alike, fostering growth within the industry.
