Notice Description

The University is seeking a supplier to work alongside Northumbria's Creative FUSE team on designing the content and templates for the delivery of two professional social media campaigns. The successful supplier will, over the 9 month period, design two illustrated books (eBook and printed outputs) in collaboration with students from the illustration pathway of Northumbria's Graphic Design degree. This forms the content for two social media campaigns that our two charitable organisations will run on provoking dialogues in the North East of England. The first organisation's campaign will challenge the stigma of the complex needs of vulnerable homeless people, by using five graphic novel narratives based on two of their clients' experiences. The second organisation's campaign following on from the other will focus on a dialogue around addressing sexual violence against women. This will use content posted on social networks, drawn from collaboration between Northumbria University's illustrators and criminologists in a book form. In both cases the social media posts will utilise the illustrations in the two books to provoke dialogue online, and the eBook/printed books will be used in the two charities' outreach work initiated by the social media campaign. Project 1: Fulfilling Lives #WhatDoYouSee Project In collaboration with Newcastle's Fulfilling Lives project, students from the illustration pathway of Northumbria's Graphic Design degree have already created a set of illustrated narrative strips as dialogue provocations to address the stigma of homeless people with complex needs. The aim is to use illustrated narratives to bring people to a dialogue to address any individual prejudicial stigmas; stigmas which holistically prevent these vulnerable homeless people from getting stability back into their chaotic lives. The supplier will design the content for and liaise with both Northumbria's Creative FUSE team and Fulfilling lives, to contribute templates for a social media campaign called "What do you see?" This social media campaign that Fulfilling Lives will engage in will be targeted at social service providers, housing associations, local government, policy makers, etc. The content for these posts will be selected from a graphic novel anthology that needs designing and outputted as an eBook and graphic novel. Our illustration students have already created the illustrations, which comprise of five main illustrated narrative strips already, plus an introductory strip, and illustrated front cover. A 72+ page graphic novel anthology needs designing to be published in both eBook and printed forms for Fulfilling Lives' campaign and outreach work. The eBook will be located on the Fulfilling Lives website and used to select regular provocative social media posts to create a dialogue around stigma.
