New RFID devices for Libraries city wide. Manchester Libraries have developed a distinct approach to library design that ensures spaces are modern, welcoming, and functional. Key principles include: The use of contemporary, durable furniture and fittings is designed to create a comfortable and engaging environment for learning, creativity, and leisure. Zoning strategies that balance shelving, computers, and seating to enhance navigation, encourage exploration, and create well-defined areas for different activities. Clear and accessible circulation routes that make movement intuitive for all users. A strong visual identity that integrates design elements to reinforce the library's services and appeal to both internal users and external visitors. Materials and equipment that are high-quality, robust, and suitable for high-footfall public setting and are suitable for a self-service / unstaffed environment. All proposed RFID kiosks, return bins, trolleys, gates and tagging pads should align with these principles, seamlessly integrating into the library environment and enhancing the overall user experience.
